Having the new shooter, or anyone for that matter shoot groups on blank target backs reinforces.

I suggest more blank targets than actual bulls in training and practice.

Great pix, except it should be (one) "eye on the sight".

Now I kind of wish I had spotted the Volquartsen sight before I got the BoMar. The BoMar IS a great sight. Leaps and bounds ahead of the Ruger original. But it requires a small flat milled on the receiver over the big take down pin. Then the rounded crown of the pin must be shortened and reshaped. R...

Now back to business. I just barely relieved the rear lips leading corner. No timing change at all. Still the mag is riding high. The ejector has almost no gap above the rear lips. But it is working. I pushed an empty out the chamber with a rod from the front and no mag interferance showed. If the r...

Good news on Ruger ejection

I did not lower the magazine. I put in a Volquartsen extractor and eased the point on the front of the rear lips. So far not one jam with 5 different SV ammos. The original extractor was not holding the case tight to the bolt face. So far so good.

Lowering the MkII mag to fix stovepipe jams

Dr Bullseye I understand the lowering of the magazine as directed on your troubleshooting page. My question is doesn't the rim become lower to the bolt face and maybe hinder a good pickup of the next round? Elsewhere there is a site promoting sloping the leading edge of the rear mag lips. Do you hav...

Gil Hebard catalogs it as
Bo-Mar sight BMR for Ruger 5.5" bull barrels

It's not just a drop in. Some pistolsmithing is required. I did not have to switch to a different front sight.

No pinky use here. For 22 anyway. I have my thumb and pinky standing proud of the grip in 22 SF. I do find my pinky useful in SA revolver T&R.

BoMar sight on Mk II

I have just completed installing a BoMar rear sight on my Lipsey MkII. The sight picture is miles better than the original sight. It's not a drop in change. I had to mill the receiver some to clear the bottom of the sight piece. Also shorten the bolt stop for the same reason. Note: File a new slope ...

Mk II rear sight change

Oh wow. I just installed a BoMar rear sight onto my MkII bullseye gun. Tremendous improvement over the standard sight. The gun has also had some trigger work and stippling on the grip. If I could just get used to that dang bent handle, I could really like this gun over Marvel and HS. I find it easy ...

I have a RRA NM AR, but since I shoot Bullseye Pistol almost exclusively, I have not fired the AR much in 3 years. Heck I'm still learning BE. Went Distinguished in '04. Time to shoot two disciplines is just not easy to find. I want to gain Master and 2600 first. I think they are coming. I have sett...

Favorite 22

So many to choose from 208s 106 & 107 41 Marvel K22 and now Mk II I just got my first Ruger. Shoots well stock. I'm going to get a trigger job done sometime soon. But it will not replace the match Hammerli. I am so used to the HS magazine button on the one side, the Ruger is backwards. I am very exp...
