This thread is old and growing a long beard. I've been researching the subject and it seems unanimous. Gas checks cannot be installed on bullets not designed for them. But this makes no sense to me, so I ordered some Hornady gas checks and, one way or another, I'm going to fit them to my Lee tumble ...

Got the Crimson Trace grips back.......Not the same one, though. They sent new replacements. These adjust beautifully. Took two weeks turn around time. With all the difficulties with the Ruger LCR mentioned in this thread, it sure was a consideration in my purchase of the LCR 38sp+ I just bought. S...

I feel most vulnerable at home. My SP101 is nearby my bed loaded with Gold Dot .38's. At the other end of the house is the LCR 22, hidden for easy access. When I carry, the LCR 22 is my choice because it is light, hides easily and doesn't pull my pants down. I believe it will do the job in 99% of th...

The day after

Son was here for Thanksgiving and the day after we went out to the shop for a bit of target shooting. He brought is LCR (.38 spl) and his new purchase of the SP101 SS, 3", .357. I brought out my SP101, .357 and the new LCR 22. He fired .38 +P in both the LCR and SP101 and I used my hand loads, 148 g...

Very nice gun Purchased by my grandad from a man on the street for $1in the 30's or early 40's. It's had many stocks over the years made from 2x4's and 2x6's and stained with blackberry juice. This stock is one I made from teak. No finish, just natural coloring. The scope is a Weaver B4 from late 5...

Many years ago, back in the 50's, I remember flakes of lead coming out of the barrel of my old single shot .22 as I ran a bore brush through it. But I haven't seen that for many, many years. I still have that gun.....or rather my son has it and it doesn't lead up anymore. I shoot a lot of .22's in m...

Good shooting, the bad guys are done for with that. It's better than I do staging the trigger, so far. On your previous post, you're using the same sight picture I figured out to use the factory sight at 12 yards. Then the 22 matches my 357 with a six o'clock hold. Glad you got a keeper this time. ...

Not at all unhappy with this one. After a ~200 rounds this morning, all I had to do to clean it was wipe it off with a rag dampened with Hoppe's and push a patch through the bore/chambers. Wipe, inside and out, and done. Looks like new. A far cry from the older one, which needed a brass wire brush t...

CT are great for use with aging eyes. I can see the front sight though fuzzy with my normal glasses on. So I just point shoot which is all your doing on close range, 3yrds. At 7 you start using the rear sight too, so I just point shoot. I do train with my CT at least 1 mag/trip. Glad to hear the ne...

Still waiting for the CT grip to be fixed/replaced. Nothing yet. Several hundred rounds of mixed ammo through the new LCR 22 and it is a keeper. No leading. The smut wipes right off and it shines like new. Still shoots low (like the older one did) if I use the sight picture in the manual, but perfec...

A lull in the action at the pistol range promotes conversation. Usually gun owners aren't afraid of giving their opinion at such times. We were talking gun carry tactics and self defense during a session the other day and one of the fellows brought up the thought of a retired policeman who refuses ...

I've emailed CT with and explanation of my problem. Maybe they will fix it. They're just a couple of hours drive from me and they have drop-in service. Doesn't CT give a lifetime warranty on their products? It's a three year warranty and this grip is dated Feb. 12, so is only a fw months old. I jus...
