I had 1 magazine that was sitting high that came with my MKIII. It made the mag not release when I pushed the release. Did not make any difference if the bolt was locked back or not. One worked just fine. I took a small file and hit the catch on the magazine a couple of times and all worked fine. My...

Bullseye you do a wonderful job on this forum. A++++ I'm a moderator on 1 site right now, has nothing to do with guns... It has a automated system for new users, at times it's spammers. So we have to remove them and all of there post. So scanning each uses is actually a good idea. Some how hackers f...

I fell and broke my left hand and wrist last spring and had to learn to shoot 1 handed. At the time I was shooting my BHP. Got very good after 4000+ rounds. Then the locking bolt for the barrel failed just as I was about to take my CC course. I then bought a Sig 229R in 9mm. All ready had 2k rounds ...

Good to hear. It's always nice when a plan come together. I have yet to test mine, I have not replaced the hammer or sear, Yet? But I did polish the sear, to 2400git. I have 4000 grit, stones to 8000 grit and 1/2 micron diamond paste if I want to get serious. I expect the same results but probably n...

I finally scored some Winchester Bulk tuesday at Sports Acadmey. This is the only bulk I have found in the last 2 mo of looking. I was out and about and just decided to check, got lucky. They just got a shipment of ammo the night before. I took 5 boxes, since I still have 5 boxes on BO at Cabellas. ...

I have the Redfield 1piece base with the double dove tail mount on my 700 BDL in Rem 7mm Mag. Leupold Scope. This uses a Dove tail front post and taper clamp on the back. I installed these almost 30 yrs ago, these have never moved. The 7mm is not the kindest to scopes. It shook the guts out of a Bus...

Yes your correct, a little to weak. WW231 burns the cleanest when it is in the upper range. I use it for my 9mm 115gr RN Rainers. At 4.5 its like you describe, at 4.6 just a little, at 4.7 it burns super clean with 4.8 gr max. I don't have a crony to know what the velocities are. But the accuracy is...

For my old parts I oil the parts and put them in a small ziplok bag. Just do a fold and staple, do not seal the bag and put it in the safe. If you have any of the treated paper used to preserve parts put it in with the bag. I used the Clark bushing in my MKIII. Some think your suppose to sand to mak...

A 1 grain could be a very large % error if its the powder and not the brass/bullet. Lets say the ideal total load weight is suppose to be 52 gr for total weight, but powder is only lets say 3 gr. .7 dev = 23% change. So My guess most of the weight difference is in the brass and bullet weight. Would ...

The scrap cedar is shaped the way it is because it's the droppings from making some pedestal shelf mounts last year. I made a rough cedar shelf with knots, and un-trimmed edges, just like it came off a tree as the back. It's kind of a head board shelf in a bedroom for things to set on. My neighbors ...

Smokey, The info given on that site is basicly the same info given on the CDs that came with the calls. The CD's gave more detail on the actual call sequence and how to use the calls to generate them. For example with the barks, the gray and fox is different. The fox start off fast and slows down. T...
