If you get too low your primers will not seal and you will get flame cutting on your bolt. So examine your brass very closely after shooting each one. You will also have a problem of sealing off at the neck too. These very from gun to gun depending on high tight the chamber is. So if you get a lot ...

223 reduced loads
Gang, just for kicks and greens yesterday I reloaded five each of my Sierra 45gr SPs and Hornady 53gr Vmaxs with IMR 800X 4gr, 5gr, 8gr, & 10gr each. I’ve heard that these reduces loads, some of which are subsonic, can be very accurate, noiseless plinkers, plus they've proven effective on smaller ga...

I to shot a friend's a few months back. It had the "twisted sister" SS barrel, a real looker and shooter so I was impressed and ready to buy one but after research I finally opted for the more versatile 22 mag which will be of better use at my farm, plus I have two single sixes that can also shoot t...

On second thought, and I do my best thinking while asleep :D I believe blue is on to it! The sandbag under the rifle's forearm may have been elsewhere after I re-assumed my shooting position. The Marlin's barrel is floating but under it it's a cheep plastic stock so who knows what pressure points ex...

I'd like to add that after yesterday's shooting my groups have perceptibly and consistently shrunken so I am indeed happy with my new Palmetto build, as it shoots. 100 yard target with my Zmax/Varget reloads. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/George/AR15%20and%2045%20ACP/Palmetto8_10_13withZmax...

On the forearm, not that I can think of but maybe I did instinctively. How does the forearm play into this? Let me explain, the target is bench rest with the left arm/hand wrapped around and supporting the back of the stock. Cheek weld should also have been the same but I was having trouble at 9X se...

Shooting position
While shooting my 22 mag Marlin today at 100 yards I notice something of interest I thought warranted discussion. The lower 2 shots where shoot without changing shooting position, while the remaining 3 were shot after I got up to check the 1st two. I am surprised that by simply re-assuming shooting ...

bg, great analogy on shoes=triggers, exactly right. For example, the 2 stage trigger a K31 comes with, well used, in my opinion is the ultimate trigger, and I've shot many a rifles. I just love its smooth, repeatable 1st stage feedback, and precise 2nd stage crisp break, each and every time. IMHO th...

I will start off by saying that I still like the Hipertouch, quite a lot, but its pre-travel I don't care for, at all. Also, I was not able to remove it by adjustment, as a matter of fact it became more gritty with the set screw, if that's even possible. So, I removed the Hipertouch and installed my...

To add to our trigger discussion, after shooting this trigger I do like it, it's crisp and at 2lbs 10 oz it's a dream break but I don't like its travel, it feels like a pseudo 2 stage with the "upper pressure" of the hammer movement on top of it. I will either adjust this travel out or send it back.

.......I was concerned about that pull weight, looks like my concerns were valid. Perhaps they will come out with another version that meets service rifle standards for trigger weight. R, Bullseye Bullseye, have no fear George is here  So, here's the scoop from the man himself, Terry, who's th...
