Sorry for the mix-up this post belongs here: And there's the beauty of the PSA upper I bought for $409 total, it was exactly what I wanted. i.e. an FN M4 barrel but with a floating hand guard, correctly head spaced and proof shot. BCG was and extra $150, a Spikes tactical with the spider on its side...

PSA is tops in my book. A bit slow on delivery but CS is A1 and their products are A1+. I would not hesitate ordering anything I needed from them!

Great trigger, and I still love its engineering. Without springs it breaks at 4lbs. With the black springs it measures 2lb 10oz and with the blue springs it's 3lbs 15oz, so apparently their chart is correct. Bullseye, tomorrow I'll call the company and enquire if additional springs can be produced t...

In search of perfection

Looking for the perfect load for this 1 in 7 twist Palmetto. It's proven an accurate rifle but I believe I can get more out of it with the right load. Thus far it appears to shoot 55-75gr bullets over Varget equally well. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/George/AR15%20and%2045%20ACP/IMG_6714_z...

I suspect the 3.8lbs should be 4.8lbs? I went by what "a youtube" video said but obviously the chart speaks a different story....and I hope that's not an indication of added negative things to come. When it arrives I'll install and report back with precise trigger pulls for each spring set, assuming...

Interesting product. I'm not sure how well this trigger set-up would work in CMP/DCM rifles as the minimum trigger weight for competition is 4.5 pounds. The adjustable weight chart with this trigger system only shows 3.8 pounds as the maximum setting. The mechanics do look interesting and some furt...

bgreen, you may want to take a look at this link. I executed the 15 min trigger job and am very happy with the results. Mine is now a crisp, reliable 3lbs 13oz. But be very careful as the manufacturers only surface harden the trigger group parts....ask me how I really feel about this cost saving mea...

It's for sure rewarding to put together a reliable AR, good job Georgezilla and bgreen! Here's the Palmetto I recently put together, and after shooting a few hundred rounds through it, it's proving a reliable, accurate shooter. I can't say enough about the PSA products, indeed a great company to dea...

I finally made it back to the farm today from the north east and after quite a bit of bush hogging and other such work that was neglected while I was on travel for 6 weeks I had to try out my 81…..the priorities of life! Well, after tightening the barrel nut and concentrating on the targets it becam...

He did. But his was a 8 model, the predecessor to the 81, with a specially fitted 15 round magazine. It was the police version and had a lot of fire power for such a short but heavy rifle. That's exactly why I made the statement that I am not man enough for 15 rounds of 35Rem. It’s built like a tank...

Yep, surprisingly hard recoil, even though it's a recoil barrel action. But I like the rifle and will continue to shoot it, especially after I install a slip-on recoil pad on the butt stock. That and reloading for it ought to do thr trick.
