I am not familiar with this particular rifle but I'd take the hand guard off to see where on the inside the barrel may be rubbing due to expansion when it gets hot. If it's visibly darker at a particular spot simply sand down that spot and shoot again after re-assembly. Simple fix that I recommend y...

Bullseye, after shooting my 81 for the first time today, I don't believe that I am man enough for the police version of the 15 round mag of 35 Rem rapid fire. Recoil packs a wallop. The rifle shot very well, even though it demonstrated one failure to properly eject, on shot 6. Don't know what caused...

Remington Model 81 in 35 Rem
I bought this rifle last Sunday, through sheer luck, and am very happy I did! Haven't shot it yet but maybe Saturday. Any of you own one and if so how do you like it? It should make a great brush gun.

bolt, I am impressed with your skills and setup and am very proud of you for tackling this project, you won't be disappointed with the accuracy and dependability of this rifle. I have a number of Swiss, including a circa 1899 long rifle that's still as accurate as all get out, so I sportarized one o...

Disappointing
After attending a function on Thursday night I was pumped on purchasing the SR1911 by Ruger. I found it to be a good looking pistol, nice wood grips, all in SS, and totally made in the USA so how can one go wrong. The next day, before placing on the counter my $699+tax I decided to shoot it first an...

Micro dot sight
Hi friends, A few days ago I mounted on my MarkII a Primary Arms MD-07 red dot. I originally bought this sight for my LMT AR-15, and it worked great on that platform also, but since it's so small and light I thought I'd try it out on the pistol. It's an outstanding fit for the Mark II and helped me ...

Sprylat is the company that made this color (Persian Grey) but my guy mixed in a bit of texture, per my request, for better gripping capability. Couldn't be happier with the results but lets see how she shoots over the weekend. I bought this inexpensive pistol to learn how to tune a 1911 and thus fa...

Yes, here's the old. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/George/AR15%20and%2045%20ACP/IMG_6499.jpg The PT is a pretty decent 1911, especially at $450 new which is what I paid for it. But it came with an aluminum anodized frame (lightweight for CC) which scratched if you looked at it wrong. This n...

It took a couple of hours to fit it all together, due to very minor overspray that I think can't be helped, but it now all fits perfectly well, and the pistol looks much better than original, not to mention a much hardier frame finish. As long as the guy that does the job is good don't even think tw...

On powder coating
Gang, is powder coating an acceptable process to coat the aluminum frame of my new PT1911? This Taurus shoots well but the finish of the frame leaves a lot to be desired. I've already cold blued the slide, and it looks much better, but the frame still needs a lot of help. I've been told that powder ...
