Red dots with multiple reticles
Bushnell Trophy red/green dot with four reticles mounted on Ruger 22/45 MkIII. I sighted in using the circle/dot reticle (which I favor) then test fired two rounds at each bull with different reticle. They seem to group along a vertical line very nicely, but all other reticles are grouping higher th...

Another old thread that I found interesting. I put an Ultradot on my Benjamin and used it for several years without problems. Took the Ultradot off and replaced it with a 2X handgun scope and, again have used it for years without problems. The 2X scope is still on the Benjamin. There is a difference...

Sometimes it pays off to go right back to the source instead of trying to cobble aftermarket part for 3 times the cost. Glad to see you found what you really wanted. Never too old to learn. Even this old dog can learn from his mistakes. By the way, that's one fine lookin' dog. That's my range dog, ...

I just stumbled into this old thread and found it an interesting read. I thought I'd add one more small game getter to the .22 rimfire. I use a Benjamin/Sheridan 5mm air rifle with a 2X pistol scope to control pests on our small country acreage. Squirrels and small rabbits drop instantly. Some of th...

Searching for a linear polarizer in 28mm was futile. Best I could do was 37mm and was about to order that and a 28mm-37mm step-up ring when I thought about trying the red dot manufacturers for assessory filters. Found that Ultradot's filter for their 30mm tube is available as a separate item. Ordere...

Jeweling brings to memory a problem I had some years ago. My wifes cousin had a Ruger .22 Single Six that had been modified for quick-draw. The entire piece was jeweled, frame, barrel, cylinder, etc. He asked me to make a pair of birds-eye maple grips for it. He left it with me and I made the grips ...

According to the specs for that scope the lenses are 28mm. That should be the size filter you need. R, Bullseye Thanks for confirming that, R. I measured it at 27.7mm female and 27.8mm male and assumed that 28mm was correct. Maybe I'll get the proper filter this time. I couldn't find the spec's. on...

Well.........live and learn. Got the circular today. Was supposed to be black and it came in silver. And it doesn't fit. Apparently a 30mm filter doesn't fit a 30mm tube. Now to figure out what size the threads are. They make the filters in 27mm and 28mm. It's probably one or the other. I can measur...

I had to do a little research on circular polarizing filters as I was not totally up on that technology. Basically the linear filters are two independent lenses that each block out light of a particular phase. When they are rotated independently of each other they work together and combine to block...

The dual filter set up is the one I was referring to with the tape trick. The two lenses work in conjunction with each other to reduce glare. The outer lens is free-wheeling and can be rotated. The tape keeps it from turning under the forces of recoil and totally blotting out your target image down...

The VQ disconnect link solved my pretravel problem. Slightly over 1/8" travel before and about 1/16" with VQ disconnect link. This is measured at the bottom of the trigger. I think 1/16" is about minimum to ensure positive latch-up of hammer/sear. There was indeed, a post travel adjustment in the st...
