Cabin fever (goshdarnit, I want to shoot something)

I know I'm not the only one. This was the first nice outdoor weekend here since Christmas, and I didn't go to my Forest Service range. I just knew it would be packed with every Tom, Dick, and Bubba from 50 miles around.

I haven't been shooting since an odd not-so freezing Sunday in January. Maybe I'll trust there to be no stampede NEXT weekend.............

I'm going to Boggy Head Forest range out of Berthea, SC today. I wait until 10:00 AM or so to let the brass grabbers get out of the range and then show up.

There is going to be some dead targets out there today.

Sunny and relatively warm this weekend. I showed great weakness and went to a gun show Saturday. However, I showed great restraint and character and went to a plumbing supply house and Lowe's, then went home and started gutting the master bath.

Sunday, I finished removing the tub/shower and made a run to the dump. Not once did I think about shooting. Ended the day watching a bit of basketball.

Targets never did nothing to me, so I make every effort not to harm them. This weekend I didn't even take them out.

I'll feel morally superior until the nurse brings my meds.

Try a little Jim Beam or Jack Daniels and a tall water and call me in the morning for further meds.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

Dude, you coulda shot that tub!

Imagine the noise if you were able to suspend it ... "BANG!bo o o o n n n ng"

I am lucky to have a conservation club nearby with an indoor range, I'd invite you poor folks over for some shooting, but I don't think anyone is very nearby.

If it is any consolation, I intend to do some target-punching tomorrow, and I might even take some water jugs out on the outdoor range and see how this new .45 does on stuff more interesting than paper!

Shoot a few rounds for me, Dave. I'll be having fun pushing paper and working in the bathroom.

They are, but I'm at work, split shift. I'm between halves right now. The one weekday I took off to go, it was actually busier than most weekends.

My area really needs more shooting locations. Ther is a small, beat-up, Bubba-run $10 an hour indoor joint, and a $300 per year shooting club that is just as long a drive as the USFS range. Otherwisw, you gotta have property out in the "sticks", or know someone who does.

Well, I nerped the derp and forgot to print targets for the postal match ... but I did manage to make some holes in a favorite reactive target!
Some interesting captures, one WWB HP caught on the rivets (I'm rather proud of that, I was trying to take off that handle from 15 yards) and the rest were on the ground under the pot)
