Shooting is more fun than browsing. Besides you can doze off during the slow screen refreshes.

Seems like I have seen a question similar to this somewhere else recently. I don't remember what I offered up at that time, or if I even did. Heck, it may have been this thread. I think a shotgun would be the best overall. I guess I would also stick with my Ithaca Mdl 37 20 ga. Carry more ammo for the same weight. And a 20 ga slug will take most anything out I will see here in the southeast, and 00 buck and 6s and 8s for the rest of the stuff. If I had to have a short gun only, it would be my S&W Mdl 19 .357 with a passel of my deer slayer rounds, plus a bunch of .38 +P for the less angry crowd.

Of course us old people tend to be somewhat crafty and devious so I would probably have that .357 hidden about my body someplace with the 20 ga. under my arm. Image
Being old means never having to say you are sorry. Or something like that. TB

Two sweet classics for certain! Hard to find a better revolver than the Smith 19, and the I 37 bottom shucker still amazes me. Interesting since they came up in this thread is this months American Rifleman has a nice article on Drilling's. Regards

Picking only one makes it very hard to decide. But out of all of my hand guns this Custom Colt 6" Ni Python was my first double action handgun in 1977. At that time < 0.05% of all there guns went through their custom shop. I have yet to find another one like it. The custom work was done in Colt's Custom Shop, Trigger Tuned and Adj Sights. I have put over 5000 LSWC through this gun, and probably less than 500 Mag loads.

Nice looking revolvers, guys. Since I have a weakness for .357 revolvers, it took me a while to realize that in an "only one" question, some folks were gravitating toward these.

My Model 19 is a tack driver and a darned nice revolver. I'm not sure I'd choose it over my GP100, but it would be a hard decision, after I get the M19 light strike issue settled. It reared it's ugly head again yesterday.
Of course us old people tend to be somewhat crafty and devious so I would probably have that .357 hidden about my body someplace with the 20 ga. under my arm.
TB, you and Oldman have some ideas in common.

The Old Man and I share a lot of commonalities.

I only envy his being close to his range.
That Colt is a really pretty revolver.

That is a proven fact, and the piece in my pocket is just an added asset.
