Holsters are available. Check with some of the vendor that advertise with SASS.
I make my own as I have a pretty complete leather working shop, including sewing machines.

Right you are Haka, 55 is not old, I have children older than that. I am an oxtogenarian plus, made 85 the 15th of this mont, but I know people older than me too.

What I've carried most was a Star Firestar, a compact 40mm that was a bit heavy for its size.
Nice shooter, though. Happily, the only time it was ever whipped out was for some plinking along a levee.

My concealed carry rig this winter is an SA EMP, 9 MM, loaded with Hornaday Critical Defense rounds in a Wild Bill's Concealment Fusion paddle holster.

40 caliber, sorry about that. Can't call it 10mm as that is another cartridge.
With the compact 40mm, again you run across the problem of finding a holster for it.
My Firestar rode in an inside pocket of my blue-jean jacket.

I had to give up carrying the grenade launcher because it kept getting in the way when I sat down somewhere.
The 40cal Firestar though was a small enough, if kind of heavy carry gun.

I still think that is a major factor as to why many don't carry their sd guns, they are just too big and heavy.

My 15 shot Hungarian Browning/Smith hybrid is too big and heavy for concealed carry, and I'm dubious about it for open carry as well. - I'd be listing to starboard all of the time with that thing on my hip, fully loaded.
Lately I've been working on so many rifle projects that I haven't put in much thought about handguns or shotguns. I have two rifle projects in the works right now.
Handgun-wise, it seems like all that I've been looking at lately have been single-action army type revolvers. I'll end up with at least one of them before it's all over, I would guess. For some reason, a 32-20 sounds very appealing to me.
