MKII & MKIII VQ Hammer Price Difference

Post by Tbag » Thu Feb 22, 2007 8:37 am

Bullseye I am buying parts for my Hunter III why is it that rimfire sports sell the MK II hammer for Less than the hammer for the MkIII? I thought they were the same. My goal is to convert to MKII style set-up. Wait hammers can't be same if the hammer is part of the lawyer proofed gun.

The hammer for the Mark II and the Mark III are not the same. The Mark III hammer has a additional slot cut in the side of it to allow all the magazine disconnect parts to fit inside the gripframe. The dimensions of the frames are the same between the II and III models, so the designers took .049" off the side of the hammer to allow all the parts to fit. The rest of the shape of these hammers are the same and that's why you can swap in a Mark II hammer and bushing in a Mark III frame, if you take out all the mag safety parts.
