Bullseye I have noticed your pretty much a Ruger MK III 22/45 guru. I used your guide to field strip my Ruger and pretty soon will be using it to replace my hammer bushing with a MK II (to bypass the mag safety).
I have a few questions I think you or others maybe able to answer. First issue is I am having issues with the mags not seating in the gun. Most the time you have to press it on the front edge of the mag to get it to pop in.
Another issue I been experiencing is anytime I am using hollow points they seem to chip when being feed. Once there chipped and you fire you will have the chips hit you in the hand. I don't know if this is just normal for a Ruger MK III or if its something wrong with my gun. I can use normal solid tip ammo and have no issues they do scratch but they do not chip.
Thanks for your help and thank you very much for the great guides online there great help.
Is this typical or Normal

Your issue may have to do with the magazine bottom block. If it is hitting the frame it will prevent the magazine from seating properly. Check for clearance and if there is excessive contact you can file a little off of the bottom base pad to provide adequate clearance for your magazine. Do not alter the pistol's zytel frame. Magazines are much easier to replace/repair than attempting to get a new frame from Ruger.I have a few questions I think you or others maybe able to answer. This may be related to the first issue. If the magazine is not seating properly in the frame then it could cause the bullet noses to to tilt downward and strike the feed ramp. It is more noticeable on hollow point ammo because they usually snag and deform. If altering your magazine bottom blocks do not solve this issue too then you can slightly spread the individual magazine's feedlips wider on the front side of the mag. This will tilt the round upward slightly and angle it away from the bottom, sharp, edge of the feedramp. Don't get too aggressive with spreading a few thousandths on each feed lip will make a big difference. Be sure to only spread the front edge of the feed lip. Do not go back any farther than 1/4". Doing so could cause the rounds to overshoot the chamber mouth and jam up against the barrel face where the recoil rod is located.Another issue I've been experiencing is anytime I am using hollow points they seem to chip when being feed.
