I was wondering if the MK III and 22/45 MK III are pretty much interchangeable? Like can u use the barrel off a MK III on a 22/45 MK III

and can you change out parts between a 22/45 MK II and 22/45 MK III

Most of the internals are the same between the 22/45 MKIII and the metal MKIII. There are some minor differences in the hammer and sear pins, the bolt release, and the sear return spring. The underside of a 22/45 receiver barrel assembly is peened at the factory to tighten the fit on the plastic frame. This causes most receivers not to fit on the metal frames. Once the dent is removed they will fit just like any of others.

As far as the 22/45 MKII and the 22/45 MKIII they are interchangeable. The only difference is the magazine disconnect safety parts and the hammer with the notch for the safety parts. While they will change into the older 22/45 frame I don't see why anyone would want to make that swap.

I am hopping to find a nice used 22/45 with changeable grips in either MK II or MK III version. I wanna switch my frame out on my Current 22/45 MK III to one with switchable grips. Plus I want another Ruger 22lr so I can have a scoped gun and non scoped gun.

Everyone needs a second Ruger

If he is still doing them, the Techteach grips work pretty well
