What is a S&W M52? I am not familiar with that one. I have been looking at a M41 myself, and may pick one up this Fall. Still shooting the three Ruger's (one MKII and two MKIII's). Hope you and the DAWG are doing well, buddy, it's been a while ............ Rich G.

Yes it has, you got to be an old guy to know about 52's, don't know when they stopped making them.
It's like a 41 but in .38 Special, old centerfire target pistol from S&W.

You are so correct Bear's Daddy, that is one that I've heard about and would love to see/shoot!
Rich G, get that 41 as soon as possible. They are that good. Thats how I found this great sight. I commented on another forum that there was little information on the maintenance of the 41 and Bullseye created that awesome thread in the Tech area.

Shot it yesterday:
b-8, 1-handed 15 yards 100-4x, 25 yards 96 held the 9-ring. Was too lazy to walk out to 50 yards.

I've never actually shot an m41 so I can't say how the trigger is relatively. But this one has some take up but no creep, crisp break. Trigger is adjustable, sort of.

It was really nice to practice with no noise, no recoil, and no powder fumes.

Shame they don't make these anymore.

The S&W Model 52 is a .38 Special wadcutter round. The pistol itself is based on a Model 39 style frame. It was a great centerfire gun. Built especially for Bullseye competition, it only had a 5 round magazine. Great for shooting timed and rapid fire as these pistols had a really tame recoil. The magazines were finicky and reliable feeding could be an issue. Typically they took some tweaking on the feed lips to get them to feed the .38 spl wad cartridge regularly. I believe they stopped making these in the late 80's or the early 90's. There was a lot of hand fitting and they weren't a high profit handgun for S&W.

My Bully threaded barrel is here! Now, I can shoot my 41 in the quite, at least I can as soon as this small weather front works its way through. Ray @ Bully barrels does fine work, and I love having the sight rails built in to the barrel

Nice looking barrel. I've cut a few of those top straps off of M-41 barrels to open up the ejection clearance. Milling rails into the barrel body makes sense with all that surface area available for a Weaver rail.
