I took my new (to me) model 41 to the range and tried shooting it. The ammo I use was Remington. I could not get one round to chamber. Then I switched to my Ruger slabside. I could not get one round to chamber in it either. I switched to Federal and both guns chambered fairly well. Can anyone tell me which ammo has chambered best for them. I have read that model 41's are real hard to please. Mine is no different.

Welcome remington660. I go through CCI SV (Standard Velocity) by the case with no drama in either of my 41s. I have a new ANSCHUTZ Sporter that loves RWS Rifle Target and today I discovered that my 41 really shoots well with that as well. Also Federal Automatch 325 round bulk pack, but it is a little hotter than I like. I recommend that you get the CCI SV for a starter. You didn't say which Remington or which Federal that you tried. They both make some excellent ammo, and they both made some that fall short of what a 41 deserves. Regards

Mine likes CCI SV but is consistently accurate with SK Std+ and Wolf MT
Edit: Pardon my manners - Welcome!

Welcome to Guntalk-Online!
I avoid Remington Golden bulk and Thunderbolts like the plague. They have too many quality issues for me. I know some folks like them but I've had nothing but trouble with that ammo.

Mine likes CCI st velocity. Also shoot Win Dyna Points. They are cheaper and accurate as I am. Checked some Win with a 24" barrel. They averaged 1060 or 1050. So that should be standard velocity.
Ruger slab side likes the Win's but get a few duds.
