I went to the range today to test my MKIII Hunter after replacing the extractor.
Impressive to say the least! It solved all my jamming problems. Went through over 700 rounds with absolutely ZERO problems. CCI Blazers, Federal Champions, Mini-Mags, even the crappy Remingtons all fired and ejected effectively! The only problem experienced during the entire outing was my front sight kept working loose, even after a Loc-Tite Blue treatment. I guess I'll try cleaning the threaded hole again & hope it holds next time! Now if I could only do something about these tired old eyeballs of mine, I'd really be doing some serious shooting!!!!!

Take a cotton swab and get way down inside the screw hole to clean it out. There must be some residual oil down in there preventing a good seal with the locktite. Be sure to allow for ample curing time before shooting or the sight will come loose. 24 hours is long enough time to wait.

Of all the scope rails and sights that I have switced aroun I hav only had one come loose. Guess us old service techs just tightens screw difffeerently than other folk. By the way it snew a little during the night again, and I wanted to take Henry out and try out his new sight, oh rodent refuse.
