I'm installing a Weigand "no gunsmithing" scope mount that uses the rear sight dovetail. Since I won't have a rear sight, I want to remove the front sight. Question; will the scope mount filler screws fit the front sight screw hole? Are they the same size and thread? What about length?
Thanks

Thank you. I don't have any way of checking thread sizes. I guess I can get a 6/40 black set screw locally. That should work just fine to keep the hole clean.recumbent wrote:No they won't fit different threads.
The front sight is 6-40 thread size.
