Ruger 22/45 MkIII question(s)

Post by Jack D » Wed Apr 29, 2009 12:11 pm

I'm installing a Weigand "no gunsmithing" scope mount that uses the rear sight dovetail. Since I won't have a rear sight, I want to remove the front sight. Question; will the scope mount filler screws fit the front sight screw hole? Are they the same size and thread? What about length?

Thanks
Jack

No they won't fit different threads.
The front sight is 6-40 thread size.

Thank you. I don't have any way of checking thread sizes. I guess I can get a 6/40 black set screw locally. That should work just fine to keep the hole clean.
