Factory grips for stainless Single-Six?

Post by ruger22 » Thu Sep 17, 2009 1:46 pm

Anyone know how to get the rosewood grips that currently come on a stainless Single-Six? The best identifier seems that they have "XR" routed into the back of both grips. I have one with those grips, and would like a spare pair. I have Hogue cocobolo on it now, but the factory grips are pretty top notch, too.

I tried ordering the grips (two sets) from Ruger's website, and they were no match. The package was marked for my XR3 frame, but they were too small, second grade wood, even inlet differently at the front. Obviously a different maker. The blued models now have a different frame and plastic grips, along with the idiot internal lock.

I wonder if I ordered them like a part, part# XRO1000, would they be the same as shipped on the gun? Anyone have any experience here?
