Volunteer needed

I have a Ruger mark I that Id like to change the extractor on. I have tried a couple times and just can't seem to get the 'tool' into the groove to push the spring back.
I have done the sear and trigger but need some help on this one.
Who would install the extractor for me?

I found a 90 deg dental pick is what worked for me. It allows you to pull the pick and hold the bolt with 1 hand. You are a little far away for me to help you. Good luck

Extractor removal

I recently had the same problem while attempting to replace the extractor in my Mk.3. The solution I came up with was to place a screwdriver on top of the plunger ( in the crack) and hold downward pressure on the plunger while pulling up on the extractor which pushes back on the plunger. I then let go of the extractor while still holding down on the plunger (which held it away from the extractor and provided a gap to get my tool (a spring hook) in. The rest was easy.

Don't for get to take the FP Block out, or at least move it to the left side of the bolt.

Finally realized that I didnt have the firing pin-pin out.
Removed it and all parts and then the pick went right in.
Started reassembling and pulling the plunger down w/ pic. Bad.. Plunger launched for the moon. Only took 15 min to find. Pushed the plunger down w/ new extractor and pop-she was in.
Now I have a mag problem. Can only get about 1/3 in w/out resistance. Force it just a little and a round will be extracted into the well?? Remove that round and maybe it will go in. Then I have a stovepipe/next round feeding in jam. I guess that is why the CO gunshop had it for sale.

Try it without the grips installed, you may have a grip screw that is too long and interfering with the magazine follower button.

Got er all done. Extractor, mag release and figured out the mag problem.
The mag release was tight where the mag goes thru the U shaped area. It medication pretty heavy on the mag and pushed it off center. Removed the release and spread it 12 thousands or more, and the mags slide in like they are lubed.
Have to try tomorrow and see about the stovepipe/feeding jams.
Ill take it to my sons on Christmas and see how it works, for sure.
