Simply put, is trading two, $300, year old pistols (black Bobcats) for one $400 new pistol (Inox Bobcat), even trade, a dumb thing to do?
When I bought the two black ones, Inox ones were non-existant. Now I have one, and would like to do this trade for what is apparently the only one in my area. Then I'll have two of what I actually wanted in the first place. It's at Gander, and the official trade guy is off 'til the end of the week. One of the best sales guys thinks I'll just squeak on an even trade.
Dumb deal

* 2 Ruger Bearcat stainless, w/ EWK ejector housings & Wolff springs

* 2 NAA Guardian .32ACP
* 3 Zastava M70 .32ACP
* S&W 15-22 Sport (.22LR AR)
* 2 Ruger SR22 .22LR pistols

My attitude about trades is if both parties are happy then it's a good trade.
Plus if you paid $300 ea. a year ago, used them over the year and will be getting $200 ea. trade to a company then it's a good deal. After all there has to be profit for the company.
I'd say it's worthwhile.
If you find yourself in a fair fight your tactics need work.

Well, when you want it, you want it. If you pass it up, you kick yourself for months. I don't know what the deal will be for sure, but the salesman that thinks it could be even trade is a straight shooter. He's become something of a friend, so I'll hope he's right.
The reason I want two Bobcats is they are my CCW gun, and a back-up. Stumbling onto the first Inox gave me three, which I really don't need. With two Inox ones, I'm good.
I'll even pay some extra, if the wife doesn't kill me permanently......

Noooooooo........
It's a pocket pistol, DA/SA with 7+1 capacity. I did used to know a guy who illegally carried (years ago) a bobbed barrel Blackhawk in .45 LC. I think it was cut to three inches, so no ejector rod. I guess he trusted not needing to reload........

It really sounds like your minds made up to get it. So I say go for it and don't look back. Lifes to short to worry about the little things. Get your pistol and enjoy it. The wife will get over it.
On the other hand don't use your house payment money or take food off your table.

No deal. Best they could do left me paying $100. So I put it on layaway, will sell mine (hopefully) at upcoming gunshow.

I've fired a Bobcat once and the Taurus clone once. The Beretta is, I think a better pistol. I don't know enough about the INOX versus the Bobcat to make much of a recommendation. However, if it were me, and I liked the INOX, I'd do the buy, since I never trade.

The INOX looks like a pretty good pistol.

Gave up and put the second Inox Bobcat on plastic Friday. Made it to the range today. It didn't do as well as my first Inox one, but better than the black ones did at first. The first four rounds FTE, then a few scattered FTE's and failures to feed over 150 rounds fired. It was gradually getting better. I think a good cleaning and one more session will smooth it out well. I put most of the faults on the somewhat gummy factory lube.

Sounds like a dab of cleaning and another couple hundred rounds will smooth it out. Nice way to spend the afternoon.
will sell mine (hopefully) at upcoming gunshow.
So, you could be the star of the next gunshow loophole newscast?

Yeah, selling my assault pocket pistols to dangerous terrorists ........
I don't really care for gunshow gouging, seldom go. Taking the black Bobcats to a gunshow could wipe out the whole day, with no guarantee they'd sell. I've got them on gunlistings.org and backpage .com, free classified sites. If they sell, great; if not, okay. I can keep four, I just don't need four.
