Am I doing something wrong I been using the tutorial on the web page for field striping and detail striping my Ruger.
But for some reason at step 6/7 of

I cant get my bolt stop to seat unless I pull the trigger. I have spent hours and hours trying. I finally found a video on youtube that showed me to try this. It worked first time no problem. So am i doing something wrong our what.
One more question I knowticed my bolt has some wear on it does it need a extra shot of lube or is it like my Glock it likes it nice and dry?

If your hammer is not fully forward the assembly process can be more difficult. Pulling the trigger allows the trigger to go fully forward. It may appear forward but unless you push the hammer forward with a tool, while the trigger is pulled, the hammer may only be partially in the forward position.
Wear patterns on the bolt are normal. Adding lube beyond a very light coat will attract blowback powder residue and gum up the action rather quickly. It is better to use sparing lube. Apply a few drops of light oil to a piece of cloth and then wipe the bolt with the cloth.

I had a similar frustration the first time I field stripped my 22/45 MK III. Every time I tried to swing the mainspring housing closed, the bolt pin would rotate out / down. I may have found the same YouTube vid explaining the need to depress the trigger and push the hammer up / forward through the mainspring housing opening. Bullseye's photo shows the path and angle to the hammer. Any handy tool will help.. punch, small screw driver, etc.

With the transition to the Mark III style pistols the hammer's tend to be less likely to move forward on their own and need a little assistance. That extra hook and spring tend to interfere with the the hammer just enough to prevent it from full forward movement. A classic symptom is when you go to close the mainspring housing and the bolt stop pin pulls out of the receiver. While the hammer can appear fully forward it may not be in that position. A little push with a long tool while squeezing the trigger can make all the difference. Also ensure you have an empty mag installed if the mag disconnect safety is fully functional.
