My wife's buckmark is starting to jam a lot. I cochlea it after every shoot and have tried different ammo. Cont to jam. Had a gun smith look at it but said he couldn't find anything wrong with it.
Anyone else with a similar problem? The gun is only 2 months old and has had about 2500 rounds thru it.

When was the last time you did a detail clean and oil the slide?

I have not done that yet! That is my project this week. Got to get the book out and figure out how to do it.

Good cleaning and a dose of gun oil on the slide. What ammo were you using?

My standard wants to jam if it is not clean and well lubricated. I don't remove the slide to clean it. I did, but somehow managed to bend the recoil guide rod.

I took it to another gun shop and he ask if my wife was breaking her wrist when she shot. He said that decreases the recoil and would couse it to not totally eject the shell ccasing. I never heard of this before, but we will try this.
Also to add more oil to the slide. It is already dripping and my wife complains of too much oil splatter while shooting.

I'm glad my MKIII don't have any of these issues. It seems to shoot anything flawlessly.

Too much oil will actually slow the bolt action down. I would only put 1 drop on each side of the rail and that's it. 22 ammo is dirty and the oil will just collect it gumming it up quicker.

I would recommend using some Fed High Velocity Ammo though it. This being a new gun it might like a box of the Hyper Velocity ammo to help loosed it up. Normally the hyper stuff is not recommended but on new tight guns it helps and one box is not going to destroy the gun. I know of some that's all they shoot but replace the recoil springs on a regular basis.

What type of ammo are you using?

CCI

Std vel or High Vel?

40 grain 1200 FPS is what the box says. Is this considered high or low velocity?

Lock the slide back and look at the recoil spring guide rod. It should be straight. If not you will have the problems you described. If it looks like this, you will have jamming problems.

Thanks. I did a complete disassembly and cleaning and it only jams about once every two clips. I also put extra oil on the slide. The spring looks ok.
