Shooting my new SR22 with the CMR 201 laser at 20 feet, off hand. Post-it (4x4) note on 8.5x11 paper. 10+1 (11 rounds). First round double action.

Yeah. Most of that's recoil, however. A tiny fraction of movement at the barrel makes a huge difference at the target. Even a .22 has some recoil, eh?

Very true Jack,

I did not realize just how much wavering one did until I put a high-power scope on one of my target rifles.

As far as recoil, yes, there is a bit of that as well, and it is more pronounced in a pistol.

Unknown. How many use their handguns in a SD situation, and how many of those had lasers to use at the time? Remembering to turn it on in the heat of the moment, would probably be the hardest part. Practice, practice, practice...until it is burned into your memory.

Never used my HG in a self defense situation. But would use the laser, if I had time. It certainly makes shooting faster and more accurate. Shooting from the hip with elbows against my belly is very fast and accurate, using the laser. This group is a normal two hand hold at arms length, eye level. Just another choice and a very good one, IMO.

I have the CT laser grips on my .357 and they are almost automatic. Just squeeze and it's there. You know the bullet is going where the dot is at the time the gun goes off. A laser in the eyes might turn the odds in your favor, too.

I have the CT grips on my Kimber UCII, DOT marks the spot. I never turn mine off unless I'm practicing with open sights. If I use the laser I do not bring the gun all the way up.

As for point shooting the lasers are nice practice aides. My LaserLyte is nice for point shooting without firing live ammo. Goes off when the hammer hits. A lot cheaper to use than live ammo.

You just want to make an old guy look bad, Jack. How about a handicap? You use a flintlock and I get to use my SR22 in a speed competition. That should even things up a bit.
