New member here, but longtime shooter.

I've had several VQ sears, and while it's a great upgrade, it seems like the sear nose is rounded off, resulting in a snappy break as opposed to crisp, so I was wondering if anyone has had a VQ sear in jig and flatted the sear nose.

Of course, I would imagine that the hammer would need work as well.

The sear should be hard enough so that does not happen. Have you contacted VQ with your issue? They may warranty it...

I've cued them up in the sear jig but I do this stuff all the time.

I've been out of the pistol game(and this forum) for a couple of years due to medical and money problems.
I sold out all the MK's I had but am getting back in the game again.
Just finished tweaking up a 22/45 target with all the VQ parts and am on the prowl for another Hunter.
Bullseye, where did you get the jig for the sear? I have a jig for the 1911 .45 sear and have been able to come up with some fine trigger pulls on several pistols. I have 6 Ruger OEM sears left over from some of the pistols I have upgraded in the past and would like to try my hand at matching the VQ sear.
I have at least one of almost every stone used in hammer/trigger work but know enough not to try to free hand stoning the parts.

If I recall BE said he used the Power Custom jig.

Brownells list them but you need to positioning jigs/dies for the MK's.

I use the PC #1 and PC #2 for all my hammer and sear work. I find the control-ability with these fixtures to be perfect for custom work. Hammer and sear engagements vary between parts manufacturers, and I need a high degree of flexibility and accuracy to dial them in to my specifications.

The Power rig is out of my price range so I may try the Marvel and see how bad I can mess up a sear.
