Nose diving rounds on ramp

I almost always load 5 rounds. With five rounds load, ya know.

Testing a 4" SS Mkii bull barrel today it would nose dive the first 2-3 rounds into the ramp almost every time when loaded to 10 rounds. Seven and less rounds work fine. It has a Mkiii bolt and stop because I stole the Mkii bolt for another Mkii. I am actually getting ready to sell it. What to do to those first three rounds of ten?

Does this situation happen with more than one magazine in this pistol? I have seen some mags where the follower springs get weaker over time and the bullet noses tend to lag as the whole stack is lifted upward to feed. I would also look down inside the mags and ensure the inner bodies are clean, no waxy build-up or residue, to prevent extra drag on the cartridges.

When I got my MKIII I had 1 mag out of the 2 that worked right. Comparing the 2 I found the one that did not feed good had narrow feed lips. Once I matched the other it helped greatly. I also did a mod to the mags to make the bullets release just a tad earlier. This made them run flawless on all types of ammo. There is the mod I did http://xavierthoughts.blogspot.com/2008 ... tweak.html
