Extended Mag Release?

The only minor annoyance in siting in my MKII the other day was that pesky mag release. Not the end of the world but nonetheless a minor pita.
Are there disadvantages to an aftermarket extended mag release?
I make my own for my 1022's. Like a lot of good things gone bad the game of ext. mag release envy took over with the 1022 culture and the result often was mag releases that interfered off bags and permaturely released
...I hate it when that happens!
I see only two so far.... Ranch Products and VQ for the MKII. Are there others?
Any thoughts on a favorite.

Ramline makes an extended magazine release for the MKII, but it looks a lot like the VQ and is made of plastic. It works OK I guess, and certainly is inexpesive enough (~$3), but I didn't like it. Other than that, I don't think that I have seen any others.

Thanks JJ, but I' not finding them . They aren't listed on the Ramline(Outers) site. Maybe that's the result of the Blount Inc break-up.
All I'm finding is the Ranch and the VQ!

Hmm, used to be able to find them all over E-bay, of course now that is all over. I'll see if I can dig up a link for them somewhere.

Definitely go with the metal ones. Those blasted plastic ones don't last more than about 10 years. While I am thinking on it, I need to buy a few for my MKs myself. Not a real fan of the original one.

As an alternative, I have seen some guys that drill and tap the factory release, and then have multitudes of mounting options. Shoot, I bet you could even get some sort of Skeeter style release put together that way.

Yeah Az-Herm I learned long ago the value of the metal releases over the plastics on the 1022.
JJ, I could do that easily enough. I've made countless for the 1022's!

SD,
I really like the feel of the Ranch Products release for the Mark I/II model pistol.
It sticks out just the right amount and is contoured for the finger tip to activate it.
Rimfire Sports has them for just under $10.

Oh, after seeing Bullseye's mag release, that's the same one that is on my troubled MKII, I must say it does fit the finger tip well, a very positive feel. Even with the large Volquartsen grip, I've had no issues with my release.

I'm a big fan of the Ranch release too. Tried a VQ, then found these. look good, and fit the finger tip very well.

Just got and installed the new mag release for the MKII. It's perfect!
I guess I like my mag releases like my salad dressing................
