Asside from Volquartsen and Clark does anyone know of any gunsmiths that specialize in Ruger Mark II/III's?

I have a Ruger Mark III that I use for NRA Bullseye and International Competition. I have installed a Volquartsen trigger kit, but the pistol is in need of some professional love.

I'm looking for a gunsmith that has worked on Rugers for Bullseye competitions.

Thanks,

Jim

What is it exactly that you want done to your pistol?

What part of the country are you located?

I want a crisp 2.5lb trigger. I'm not sure how else to describe it. I hate any slack in the trigger so also know I don't want any pretravel.

Right now the pistol has a sloppy trigger. First when you pull the trigger, the trigger stops at at least two points.

Second the trigger moves differently depending on which bullet I shoot. For the first shot in a magazine the trigger acts as mentioned above. For any consecutive shots the trigger seems to tighten up a little bit, but not nearly enough. And as soon as I reload the trigger goes right back to all the above mentioned problems. This happens with all of my magazines.

I live in South Florida.

I don't know anybody in Southern Florida that specializes in Ruger Mark II/IIIs. I have a pretty good backlog in my shop right now. I'll check around and see if anyone can squeeze you in closer to your area.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

I spoke with Clark and they said their turnaround time is about 3 months.

I spoke with Valquartsen they have a much quicker turnaround time and I think I'm gonna go with them.

Thanks

Jim
