A Note on MKIII Accuracy

If anyone questions the accuracy of a MKII/MKIII, I offer the following:

I was talking the the shooter in the next lane today. The conversation drifted to my Rugers. He said he had a couple of MKII slabsides but didn't know much about the MKIII's. He noticed that my (VQ) trigger was different. I gave him the MKIII Hunter and a mag to try. At 15 yards shooting at a 2" orange sticky target the rounds went like this:
Round one: 12 O'clock edge of the orange.
Round 2: 3 o'clock 3/4" from center.
Rounds 4,6-10: Didn't see a strike.
Round 5, quarter inch below center.

This was the first time he had shot a pistol with Hi-Viz sights. When we checked the target, the reason we didn't see 7 rounds is because they were in the black center.

At 15 yards, the only thing affecting the accuracy of my MKIII seems to be it's regular shooter.

Yup! The Mark II/III pistol is a good shooting platform. The receiver, barrel, and sights are all one integral unit; having this kind of set-up lends itself to good accuracy.
