Hi Standard Model B

Post by Song Dawg » Sat Apr 19, 2008 5:40 pm

I'm at the age where my friends fathers are passing on and leaving their shooters to the sons or grandsons.
One friend has recently come into possession of his dad's HS Model B.
It's pre WWII and somewhat used to a point where it needs to be totally cleaned and inspected. I suspect it needs some springs because it won't cycle the bolt completely closed. I'd like to see him take it to a competent smith who has some experience with these guns. We're a little lean on smiths in my neighborhood.
Can anyone suggest a good way to go on this?

TIA!
SD
