Ruger MKIII LCI... GONE!

Post by hogdogs » Wed May 21, 2008 1:41 pm

I decided I had read enuff to get this thing gone.
I field stripped the gun. popped off the receiver from frame and commenced...
Who woulda thunk a little tap tap tap would be all that is needed? Man they didn't even use a roll pin...
God I love this board!
BTW.... I am keeping all the PC parts in case I sell it!

On my personal guns I keep the OEM parts for the same reason. If I decide to sell it I can always return the gun to it's original configuration.

What does one do to plug the slot after removing the LCI?

I didn't do anything, I just left the slot.

If you still have the parts re-install everything except for the metal tab. The other parts (plastic tab and two springs) will fill the hole nicely and not interefere with loading, extraction or cleaning.

If you want the hole plugged without having an operative LCI then remove the metal tab and put the plastic lever and pin back into the pistol. The lever will not operate, it will fill the hole, and no metal tabs will interfere with the cases.

I see you got PMing worked out now Brent. At the bottom of everyone's posts is a little icon that says PM. Click on that and you can PM the author. Or you can look up a specific member profile and PM that way too.
