Whistle Pig Barrels

I am going to build a 10/22 Ruger for friendly target shooting competition. Is the Whistle Pig barrel competitive or do I need to get a match grade barrel, like a volquartzin and pay $400 to be competitive? Any one out there using a Whistle Pig?

I got a good friend on another site that builds custom .22's and Whistle Pig is his number one choice in barrels. He builds some really sharp and accurate rifles. Good luck on your build. :)

The Green Mountain barrels also do pretty well. These 10-round groups at 50 yards are pretty typical. A bit ammo dependent

These were shot from a sandbag rest

Nice stick and great shooting greener! If, you are able to get down and shoot prone like that picture indicates I'm even more impressed 8)

True enough baom I could probably get down into some semblance of prone, and perhaps with the assistance of an EMT team I could get back up. Must be why I'm a benchrest shooter

EMT team would be a definite help. Guess that is why I don't pistol shoot much anymore, standing tires me a little. Love to shoot from a rest. Got a test going tomorrow. Mr T and Pretty boy both are scoped with like units and birth ave .920 barrels Pretty Boy has a GM and Mr t is a stock Ruger hammered blue and looks great. They both shoot well. Going to use some 6 bull; targets and shoot one row of 3 with each gun and the same ammo.

Ah, it is a matter of perspective. What I thought was grass is the cover on the bench LOL. The second thing to go is eyes 8)

Saved the picture and blew it up and now I can see the bench and the one next to it, look really solid. Wish we had some like that at our range. How does the Eley Sport shoot? How does the Eley Sport shoot/
