Got the email from them today. It's been a hot topic on Rimfire Central for several days. Since it uses 10/22 magazines, and maybe the 10/22 barrel, those guys can't wait to get one and change all of it. At that $300 price point, I might eventually own a bolt-action. I always wanted a 77/22, but too pricey and no iron sights on it. If Ruger would add a walnut stock for no worse than $100 more, I might really be interested.

don't sell the Savage rimfire bolt guns short. I had a Savage Mark IIGL. left hand walnut stained and checkered stock and sporter barrel with sight that would still go for about 200 and tax, but they no longer make it in RH, just LH

Savage makes a lot of LLH rimfire bolt guns. I traded that one off last year and goes, well actually a pair of the BVTLSS. Laminated thumbhole target stock, heavy SS fluted barrel, got one each in 0.22LR and one in 17HMR. They both shoot well and can even back up your big mouth at times. Bullet hole in backer without touching ring binder hole in target paper. Consistently will shoot under 1/4 groups t 25 yards.
