1909 Argentine Mauser

Post by Diarmuid » Fri Jul 10, 2009 6:59 pm

Anyone know what it might cost to have a competent gunsmith customize this action. Cutting and rewelding the bolt handle, polishing and bluing. I want to have a 257 Roberts built around this action.

Welcome to Guntalk-Online!

Are you looking to sporterize your Argentine or do you just want to bend and sweep the handle back for a scope?

I don't do bolt work but Jim Roberts should be able to help with your Mauser bolt, http://www.angelfire.com/gundam/boltman/bolt_work/ He can also be reached via e-mail, [email protected] or by phone at 508-757-5989 He is located near Worcester, Massachusetts, in Paxton.

If the welding isn't done right then the heat treatment can be compromised. Jim is well known for his quality bolt work.
