Plate Rack

Post by quickslider » Mon Dec 28, 2009 9:01 pm

Does anyone have or know where I can get plans to build a plate rack for our small gun club. I would like to build one that resets with the pull of a rope, and if possible have an adjustment for knockdown so we can use 22 or big bore. Thaks for your help.

Here's a few places that may help:

The picture in this post is also very helpful: http://forums.1911forum.com/showpost.ph ... ostcount=9

I'd suggest using AR 500 or AR 400 steel for your metal plates. A plasma cutter will be the best way to cut out the shapes for the metal plates out of the armor plate steel. Welding the plates can be accomplished fairly easily. The welds may eventually break from stress but can be rewelded if needed.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. The pictures were very helpful. We have a laser steel cutting shop nearby. They cut out 3/8 8" plates for us at $10 a piece.
