Finally got my dovetail cutters in. I did a recess BoMar BCMS rear cut. The front sight is Novak 0.200" tall. I did very good on my sight fit. There little to no space between the slide and blade. The dovetail clearance is only 0.001" so I did good there. I got it where it wound start and used my sight pusher to push it in place. Now the odd thing about this is I have not needed to adj for windage. The elevation is up 0.030" from bottom, so I could take off 0.020" from the front sight if need be.

Once I finish polishing this second slide I will post final photos. With both sight setups. I just noticed I do not have any photos with the c-more with this new slide. I had to make a custom base to fit the BCMS cut.

Here are the final photos of my Custom Build 1911. I have two sight setup for this gun. One is the Bomar BCMS the other is my C-more. The trigger is currently at 3 lb 5 oz., nice and clean.

With the c-more mounted on a custom mount. This mount uses the elevation screw to find zero when taking on/off.

Right rear showing the Bomar BCMS adj target sight. I did not round the rear of the slide like the 1st one. I wanted it to finish with the rear of the sight. I'm have been debating of doing 50lpi serrations on the back of the slide. Starting on top of the slot and go up. The base I made has the rear serrated at 50lpi.

The disco cut on the 2nd slide is not as wide as the 1st one.

All polishing was done by hand, block sanding. I used the following steps, 240, 320, 400, 600, 1200, 1500, 2000 grit followed with 5 micron, 1 micron, and 1/4 micron diamond paste.

Looks real nice. What's best is all you've learned from this project.

Your right, what I learned is priceless. John Browning was a genius on his design. With what they had for machining 100+ yrs ago is nothing compared today. Which means as they tightened up the specs, things had to be right in order for every thing to run smoothly. Like they say it's all about the details that make these run smoothly.

This was an joyful experience and I'm glad I did it.

Here is target I shot with this gun (c-more). 7 shots. 1.3" spread. I have shot multiple magazine and I have no difference in POI vs POA. 1st round is dead on, no fliers. I used bags to support my arms and a rest for the front. And I could still see I was moving around. If I shoot more than 2 mags at one target I loose my BE reference. This gun shoots way better than I can. Wish I had access to a Ransom rest to see just how accurate this gun is. Been playing with spring combo to see if any work better than the other. This was with a 23# main spring, 12# RS. I get the same results with the std 16# RS. but the brass ends up 3' from me. So I have dropped back to a 19# main spring to increase the slide velocity a tad. Next time I order parts I'm ordering a spring pack set.

The load is MBC #2 185gr LSWC, 4.1gr WST.

Here is a target with 20 rounds, 4 mags 5 each to see if 1st round or mags make a difference. I'm the flier, you known soon as it goes off if it's a good one or not.

Just went over 5000 round count this week.

I have been reworked some of my general practice loads, to get more accuracy out of the plated bullets. Found a good load for the 230gr RN using WSF. I've been forced to changer powders due to lack of availability of WST. Wanting to save it for my LSWC BE loads.
