Colt 6940LE is my personal favorite in a 5.56 . You can put pretty much anything you want on it or play w/ it right out the box.

i just recentley bought my first ar type. well i actually assembled it from parts. bought the lower, then the upper. then the barrel, and the bolt carrier group. i used an m4 flat top as you can mount an a2 atyle handle or take it off and use a scope. i like iron sights so i bought a yankee hill machine front sight block that folds and a rear magpul sight.

i traded some gun parts for some of the parts i needed. 550. total
get a free float handgaurd.

Nice looking AR, and good job building your own. I looking forward to getting my A4 NM towards the end of the month/beginning of next month.

thansk here is what it looks like with the free float forearm.
there is no other feeling like assembling a fire arm from a pile of parts and when it feeds and functions flawlessly you get a feeling of satisfaction like never before.
oh and by the way use the magpul magazines. they are they best. and barrel wise if you can get one with the m4 feedramps do it. they help with feeding heavier ball ammo and it usually costs nothing extra

I get the same sort of feeling when I reload ammo, it gives me a feeling of satisfaction to create my own ammo. I can imagine it would be all the more building a firearm. I'll post some pics of my AR when I get "her".
