Some guy used a 3-D printer to create an AR15 receiver.

This stuff used to be just for geeks, but anybody can buy 3-D printing equipment now.

RedJacket made a gun using that technology when they had their Zombie show. The design was going to be a nightmare to cnc, but the technology to make an ejected mold using 3D printing technology was pretty cool and fast..... Particularly when your prototyping a new design.
