Question for Bullseye

Post by mark II » Wed Jun 10, 2009 11:39 am

What was the best/nicest/sweetest shooting 1911 you had for bullseye shooting?
Did you make it yourself?
What did you do with it, shooting wise?
Just wondering.

The best match shooter I currently have is based on a 1911 Caspian classic receiver, Caspian government slide and a Bar-Sto Precision match barrel. This was one of my own builds. I milled in a low mount dovetail cut for a Bo-Mar rear adjustable sight (while Bo-Mar was still in business) and a dovetail cut for the front sight. Currently this pistol has an Ultra Dot sight slide mounted on it, and it is set up for feeding wad cutter ammunition. It's use is strictly for three gun NRA Conventional Pistol competition.

I've also had many government built 1911 match pistols that I would consider as sweet shooters. Most were refurbished GI pistols (multiple manufacturers) that were match conditioned by the team armorers or the main weapon support facility.
