Value of Aunts guns

Post by gabby » Sun Mar 07, 2010 5:50 pm

Hello,
I recently had an Uncle pass away and while my parents are going through the steps to help my Aunt get things settled they came across 3 pistols.
I am trying to find out year, value, history etc. of these guns.
But mainly value at this point.
I would like to make an offer to her for these guns.

My father has sent me a discription of these as follows:

-Brevett ATA ( I believe it's a starter pistol)
Made in Italy
Model 999
Serial 44389
Cal. 22
8 shot revolver
2 3/8" barrel

-Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works
Fitchburg Mass
Serial 19189
Cal. 32
5 shot revolver (load by breaking barrel)
3" barrel (removed 5 Rem-UMC 23 S & W rounds)

-Italy (stamped on 1 7/8" barrel)
Serial B (letter is in a box) A13345
Cal. 38 specail
5 shot revolver
Serial # on butt of pistol grip (he didn't give me the numberi I can get this if needed. They are still with my Aunt)
227 stamped in cylinder holding frame
EG stamped on left side of frame
Had 38 special rounds in it.

The Brevettata .22 revolver, blank firing starter pistol is only worth about $25.

The Iver Johnson .32cal. 5 shot is likely a Model 3. You should look for a patent date stamped on the barrel rib. If it reads "Nov 17,08" then it is a Model 3. Value varies between $75 to $150 depending on condition. These pistols should be checked out by a competent revolver smith before firing.

Not enough info for the other revolver.

The BrevettATA is most likely a cheap starter pistol.

Does the Iver Johnson look like one of these??
