Ruger "Elsie Pea"

Post by toyfj40 » Sat Apr 26, 2008 3:22 pm

Anyone seen this yet ? the 'Ruger LCP' (ie. "Elsie Pea" )

A .380 'pocket pistol', similar to the Kel-Tec P-3AT.
I considered a P-3AT ( 3-eighty, get it) several years ago,
but it seemed to have a reputation of not feeding as reliably
as I'd like a pocket-defense pistol to perform... like: 101% !!

just curious -- toy

Late response, but I fired one yesterday. Overall impression is not bad. Long trigger pull, typical of the P-series Rugers. Fired 5 whole rounds: 3 X's, 2 9's at 7 yards. (no comment on the size of the x-ring) Pretty soft recoil. Fits nicely in your pocket.

The pistol had been purchased a the Richmond gun show and taken to the range. The owner was not doing too well with it. He had a combination of left twist and heeling so his rounds were wildly high left. Big hands, little gun syndrome?

It looks very much like the Ket-Tec but has a better designed grip. The Kel-tec P3AT is about $40-$50 less. If it is the same pistol, you might do just as well with the P3AT.

The total for all dealers at the gun show was probably no more than 12. They were gone in the first hour on Saturday.

thanks for the info... I'll keep-an-eye-out for one
and check it out...

I'd hate for Mae West to ask
"Are you glad to see me or is that an LCP in your pocket?"
