I agree, we need another unbiased opinion. They may not make you shoot good but just look good shooting.
I need to get something that would make me look good shooting. Been thinking about a lunar eclipse on a new moon and rainy night.

H'man, you should get a pair and give us the report.
That's not fair Greener, I'm hovering on the fence right now and it won't take much to sway my indecisiveness. That was a low blow.

Haka,

We have full confidence in your ability to evaluate the grips. I'm sure your taste and incite are far superior to mine. I always yield to my betters in these matters.

An excellent choice. #590 isn't bad either. Looks like almost every grip with an interesting color and pattern has been sold.

There are almost toooo many choices, it becomes confusing after a while looking at them. Also, I would not feel great about sending in my frame to him to get them fitted.

Those are nice. Price is a lot better than caryc's. Now, which would be better, the walnut or the spalted maple?

Well I wasn't ready to order the wood grips at that price, plus I think they would be more for "show" then shooting. I did order a set from this company:
http://www.buffalobrothers.net/grips/ruger_grips.htm
I'll have to post some pictures when I get them, probably in 1-2 weeks.
I like the cowboy theme too, it just fits the SA gun well. Hope they turn out nice, we'll see.

That and my bear spray.
I like those grips.
I always liked the "cowboy" look. I've been out to Arizona numerous times and I like the dry heat in place of the grey, cold, damp Michigan winters. I like to visit Old Scottsdale area to do some window shopping, and break down and get some southwestern stuff. They probably sell grips out there.

that's interesting that you mention the crack, as these grips can be ordered with a simulated crack in them (I think you realized that already).
The mounting screw that comes with the grip is silver, and the escutcheons are gold. I am not sure how this is going to look in the scheme of things. Which brings me to this question: Does anybody know where I can order these parts, of different finishes, online if I decided to?
thanks, Haka
