one more j-frame

The local (non-chain) gun and sporting goods store is having a sale. They've been having a lot lately just to get folks in the door. They are also a firearm distributor so when they want to move some guns--they can low-ball everybody in town. The gun counter was VERY busy today with good prices and gun-deer season opening tomorrow.

S&W 642's were going for $379 (a full $20 cheaper than the 442) so, with the additional $50 rebate from S&W, I just had to bite. I bought an identical one maybe 6 months ago at another local gun shop for $425 out the door, but this was even better. I put the small LG-105 (I think) Crimson Trace on the first one. That grip is smooth, conceals and pulls well. The new snubbie will get the beefier LG-305 with finger grooves and more cushion for the bedside safe. My wife can handle a .38 with the larger Hogue-style grip and won't be afraid to use it when I'm gone.

I've also got one more Airweight (model 36 or 37) with the full exposed hammer. It's not nearly as good to carry, but looks and shoots great. Oh yeah, picked up another brick of Blazer .22 lr for $12.88 (limit 5). Your choice of Blazer, AE hp (400 rds) or solids (500 rds) same price. I'm a sucker for a sale, but only in guns and ammo.

That's a real good price for a S&W Revolver, nice pick up.

Great price on a 642. I'd be tempted.

You sure can't find them around here that cheap. Good luck with it. :)

I guess we are getting a good deal down here at $329 AFTER the rebate.

Sounds a little old-fashioned, but I trust those S&W revolvers to go BOOM every time I pull the trigger. They carry well, but (on the downside) only 5 shots.
