Scored 2nd Generation Glock 17L @ The Gunshow

Post by HEADKNOCKER » Mon Dec 13, 2010 5:54 am

Today I went back to the Gunshow because the 17L I saw yesterday was talking..
Picked the G17L with one 17rd factory magazine for $425.. What a friend & what a deal.
The original owner of the pistol told me he bought it new in 1990 & has shot maybe 500 rounds threw it & that it had also "Never Been Cleaned" Ever..
I looked it over & it has the extended magazine release button, fixed rear sight in - size, captured recoil spring, factory 3.5lb connector, It also has had the upgraded trigger bar & firing pin already installed..Must have seen an armourer once??
The slide release lever is the newer style but was a flat factory one, I added a factory extended lever to it today..
The guns was filthy & took 10+ patches & 30+ Q-Tips & about an hour of time to clean it up really good & lubricate, BTW the gun was dry except for the old gold lube that was put on it 20 years ago by Glock..
Date Code of MV dates the gun to April of 1990..
The guy also had a G26 that is talking to me as well..
I'll see him again in two weeks, We'll have to wait & see on that one..

I like the G17. I haven't tried the long slide version. I have the Gen 4 version with the RTF grip. Hopefully it shoots well for you.

I thoroughly enjoy the 17 and would pick up a 17L in a heartbeat (if I could ever find one).

Well since I've aquired the Glock 17L I have put a 3.5lb LWD Connector & a Doctored up Trigger bar assembly & also installed a factory adjustable rear sight & a HI-VIZ fiber optic front sight assembly..
This saturday I picked up a ANIB 1999 Glock 26..
I have since installed a smooth faced trigger from a G17 & a Scherer 3.5 connector in the G26 as well..
I sold my Project P-89 & all it's magazines & came up with exactly what the Glock 26 cost = $400 Cash OTD..
Now I've got a little carry Glock to go with my Long Slide 17L, The G17Ls magazines will also fit the sub compact G26..
Here's a few pics of the G26 & one with both the Glocks!!

Nice! You'll like the baby Glocks. I also went with an extended slide release on my G27. They call it extended but it really just extends a little bit more than the standard slide release - a little easier on the thumb for activation.

Thanks Bullseye.
I've wanted a baby Glock since they first came out & the same thing with the 17L Longslide too..
I've done a bit of trigger work to the 17L but all springs etc are factory..

Glock 17L Stripped for it's first Cleaning EVER!!

I thought Tupperware was dishwasher safe...... .....
Just kidding............ :P

If you could just put a polymer gun in the dishwasher, that might get me more interested .........guess I'm just too old fashioned in my gun likes.
