Lee enfield... Good deal or bad?

I recently bought a lee enfield for $300 is that a good deal or bad? The guy reallly needed the money but I'm not sure whether I should be celebrating or fretting. It's a beautiful rifle and I'm keepinf it I just want to make sure I got my moneys worth
