Extractor Plunger ?
The extractor plunger on my Mark II 22/45 has a groove in it , and my extractor is shot. Just ordered a new exact edge for it, and I am wondering if the exact edge comes with the plunger? Also would it be a good idea to just reface the plunger I have and just tweak the spring??? Im not being cheap i just hate waiting for parts. By the way, this is a great site and i have learned alot, just modified the trigger on a new Mark III Hunter cant wait to put some groups together

When you buy the VQ Exact Edge Extractor all you get is the hook. The plunger and spring do not come with the extractor. I'm not sure what you mean by having a groove in it. Here's a picture of two types of extractor plungers that can be found in Ruger 22 Auto pistols.

The smaller, shorter one is for an early Mark I and the longer plunger is for all the later models. The plungers have a notch cut in the top to firmly drive the extractor during operation. If your extractor plunger looks like one of these then they are normal. You likely will not need to replace the plunger or spring. Typically the Ruger extractor hook wears easily and replacing it with a VQ will fix the problem.
If you do need to replace the spring and plunger then give Ruger Customer Service a call, they will likey send you those parts for free.
