Looking for one thing and may have discovered something else

Bullseye was checking over the 22/45's this evening and none of them have had anything other than the receiver off since the sears were changed and was really looking for how the mag was fitting to see how high it sat in the frame. Was really looking over the 8 inch gun to see how the mag fitted in relation to the ejector. The highest part of the mag lips were about flush with the bottom of the ejector and with some pressure it could get maybe .010 to .015 above the bottom as far as I could see. While handling the gun noticed th qt the lower or sear pivot pin was protruding maybe .040 from the frame. Pushed it back in and felt the groove in the pin snap back into the spring that retains it. On one of the other guns the pin was protruding maybe .030 from the right side of the frame. Pushed it back and felt the spring snap into the groove again. No really familiar with the steel framed pistols but looks like the sear and hammer pivot pins are held in by the grips while the 22/45's sear pin is held in by a little tension of about 2 turns of spring wrapped around it so the wire will grab slightly in the groove of the pin and the hammer pivot pin is held in by the torsion of the leg in the groove which is a little more positive. First time I have noticed this, neither pin had moved far enough to cause any problems. Not mus\ch more you can do with a Zytel frame, a straight pin with a thread on one end and a screw slot on th other would be more positive, but plastic threads do not hold much.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.
