Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm over 50 and have been shooting and collecting handuns for over 25 years. Retired from the Air Force in the early 90s and now work as a civil servant for the Army in Atlanta.
I use the same handle on all the forums so some of you may recognize me from TFL and THR.
My personal favorites are 1911s, currently have 5 of them - a split between Springers and Kimbers. Also love .22 handguns and I only have 4 but numbers 5 & 6 are on the way. Getting a S&W 617 and a mint stainless Mark II. One of my favorites, my Dan Wesson .22 with extra stuff:

Welcome to Guntalk-Online!
Sounds like your collection is growing. I like your choices. My favorite is the 1911's, put I'm partial to shooting the Ruger 22 Autos because of their simplicity and rugged design.
Many years ago I had a Dan Wesson Model 15 VH and I loved it. Later I would figure out that revolvers are just not my thing but that Dan Wesson was one fine, accurate firearm. I enjoyed the interchangeability of the grips and barrels and had several different conversions for it. Here's an interesting web site about Dan Wesson Revolvers for anyone who is unfamiliar with the utility of this pistol.

Thanks for the welcome. I find the DW to be way more accurate than I am, most say it's due to the tensioned barrel. I owned a Mark I some 10-12 years ago but sold it for some silly reason. My only .22 semi right now is a Sig Mosquito - and mine is 100% reliable shooting Walmart Bulk.
While 1911s are my favorites, at least one .22 always goes with me to the range...

I like the barrel set-up for the DW. I learned long ago that the gap between the cylinder and the forcing cone is critical to accuracy. I didn't have a problem with the barrel nut loosening but I did consistently check my barrel gap with the .006" DW supplied feeler guage. Accuracy was one of the things that attracted me to the Model 15, it was way more accurate than I was at that time. I ended up trading it to a friend for a Browning Hi Power, he loved revolvers and I was fond of autopistols. I still have that Hi Power pistol today.
