New here, and to Ruger firearms.

Hi all,

I thought I'd introduce myself to the group. Been shooting off and on for 16 years now, finally got into a position to join a club, then decided shooting the Sig .45 was getting a bit expensive. Along came a friend with a Mark III Hunter, and I found this forum while doing research. I lurked a bit to get a lay of the land per se, and decided to join up. The rest, I hope, is history.

This has been an awesome pistol thus far. A few stovepipes, I'm switcing to Rem ammo to see if that helps any. If not then I'll start changing things like trimming the top of the magazine of the catch on the side.

Looking forward to talking with y'all.

Welcome to the forum.

You can have a ball with a Hunter. Try a lot of different ammo, they all have their particular likes and dislikes. I've been satisfied with CCI SV, Blazers, Fed Champion SV, winchester 36gr hp (Wallyworld box labelled 333), Fed AutoMatch, Xpert22 and Fed Value pack.

I haven't had good luck with Rem Golden Bullets, but others have.

Welcome to Guntalk-Online!

If you're having ejection problems a good investment is an Exact Edge Extractor from VQ. For $12 its the best money you'll spend on operability.

Thanks guys. I think I'll give that ejector a try. I started with the cheapo Federal from Wallyworld, and it worked great outside of stovepiping. One dud in 1100 or so rounds. If that ejector is $12 or even $20 after shipping I can make that back with five boxes of cheap ammo.

Off to Midway, everytime i go there I spend too much! Help!

Rimfire Sports and Custom carries that part and has free shipping anywhere in the USA or Canada. Why pay more? It's only $10.95 there. Exact Edge RSC
