I found this on Military.com. I was more impressed by the Marine approach to marksmanship than I was with the Army's approach back in the '70's and '80's. I always liked their penchant for snipers. Looks like it paid off in this one.

That guy wasn't a sniper, he is a Marine Designated Marksman (DM). They use a M-21 model set up of the M-14 rifle. He had those insurgents way out gunned. I love the M-14!

One of the reasons I didn't like the M-16 was that I thought the M-14 was much better.

And bigger guns were better yet, like the 105mm or the 155mm but they are a litttle harder to transport without some horsepower.

Quite a weighty task, that.

Spent some time online looking at the M-21. Jogged some memories of old discussions. Quite an improvement on a excellent rifle.
