Can't seem to find CCI mini mags LR or bulk .22LR for that matter at my usual places. My latest CTD catalog did not show ANY prices for ammo or magazines either...

I really don't understand the rush on .22 LR.

Just before the State Of The Union waste of teleprompter, I was seeing a little .22 here and there, and a fair amount of .38s. Checked several places over the last few days since SOTU, and zero stock again.

By now, some people have got to be stepping over ammo piled in their house........

Nope, it is neatly stacked and mostly organized. I may build a throne out of ammo cans just for fun, however.

I haven't needed to shop for ammo since last summer, really. I haven't made any purchases since last October except snagging a few deals and stocking up on 20g shells. I started shooting regularly just in time for the big panic 4 years ago, having learned a lesson from that, I've been on a "buy 2 shoot 1" plan ever since. "Buy 3 shoot 1" when possible.

Oh, and I snagged some .32acp in aluminum case (Blazer, I wonder if the colt 1903 will like it?) as well as a single box of Gold Dots in .30carbine, I wanted to see if they were more impressive than PPU soft points. I suspect that the PPU is the better buy in this case.

At my friday breakfast club the conversation turned to ammo purchase.
Some of the guys know when shipments are coming in to various stores
like Gander Mountain, Dick's Sporting, etc. Gander comes in at 9:00am on
Wed and they tell me they line up all the way to the entrance door to get
first chance at purchasing. This is some 100 ft of line!!! What has our world become?

It's a shame hoarding goes on, it's just insecure human nature if you ask me.
If the schyck really hits the fan with food, gas, water shortages, can you imagine what will happen?
With that being said, here may be a helpful link:

Not much .22lr at under $0.40/round, in that link.

I've got enough to get by for a while. Picked up another 1000 .452" dia 200gr lead bullets at the gun show yesterday and have some .22. Besides, if I have to slow down on shooting it is getting close to fishing season.

That's the way I feel, I got enough for a while, and if it drys up i'll just golf a little more.

I've taken the approach of wandering by the ammo case at whatever store I happen to be at and if there is something I might need I'll buy a box or two.

Wandering througbh wally world the other day I stumbled on Tula Brassmaxx.223 50 round bulk packs for $17. I bought 3 , their per day limit. This is made for Tula by fiochi in Italy we'll see how it shoots...when its nice enough out to POP some caps.

If they had some 22lr I would have done the same.......

I was talking to a fellow shooter who paid $190 for two 500rd boxes of 22lr.
He was out of 22lr and had a hard time finding it anywhere, so when he came
across this on the internet, he purchased it. Hard to believe. If I had known I
would have sold him a couple of boxes for under half that.

I can understand people feeling the need to buy up the .223, .308, 9mm, etc... But why .22lr?

I have been able to find what I tend to use at the range sporadically except .22lr. These days, seeing boxes of .22lr on the shelves is like seeing a leprechaun riding a unicorn.
